    • First STARBASE program in the nation

    • Began at Selfridge Air National Guard Base, Michigan in April of 1991 with a W.K. Kellogg Grant

    • Became a DOD Civil Military Program in 1993

    • 1,800 students served annually (basic, advanced, and supplemental programs)

    • Over 59,000 participants since inception

    • Annual cost of approximately $900,000

    • No cost to students and schools (participants only provide transportation and lunches)

    • 17,500 square foot learning facility

    • Two on-site classrooms and five immersive learning environments

  • Population Served

    • Serve public and private schools from Macomb and Wayne counties during school year

    • 64 classrooms annually from 28 different schools and 11 districts

    • After school Advanced STEM club at Endeavour Middle School (New Haven Community Schools)

    • Supplemental basic and advanced programs in summer months open to students statewide

    • Various community outreach events held outside the fence-line of Selfridge
